Just finished...
This kit has nothing to do with anything I've made before. It's made only of cardboard for most of the work. There are also some wood shafts of different sizes mostly for the differentials, direction and more. A long rope is also provided which can be used to build the wheels with more details. It is worth mentionning that there's two methods to build the wheels: a simple one and a complex one using the rope. I can't wait to start work on these wheels!
This kit has quite a lot of pieces and a lot of precision. Wrebbit proves their know-how with all these details. Of course this is not a traditional plastic kit, but offer quite a good challenge still. There's no peinting required, no screws. The kit is so well made that little or no adjustment is necessary.
You build the kit using white glue. You know the handyman kind. This kind of glue eases the manipulation of the paper. Furthermore, when drying up the glue stiffens the paper which help when giving round forms to the paper.
I'm particularly impressed by the booklet (in fact more like a book when you look at its thickness). The book is complete and precise. There's also an index which list the kit's pieces and give where they are needed (which chapter), how many of them and on which pieces board it can be found. Awesome!
The result is worth it...
Here are some pictures of the underbody...
This is the rear shaft. The elastic would be used as a mechanism to make the car move, but I doubt this is a very good idea!!
